What is an Accelerator?

Accelerators select and invite a small group of entrepreneurs to startup boot camps, providing mentoring, resources, and, most important, industry connections during these programs. Successful graduates leave with the next stage of funding or revenue in hand, and all graduates leave with a small percentage of their company’s equity ceded to the accelerator.

 Cowo Campus is a seed-stage startup accelerator that leverages the expertise of the Northern California region, namely branding, marketing, and design. We believe that building your brand—and not just a product—is a way startups can be more resource-efficient and increase their probability of success.

About Us

Cowo Campus Accelerator is not your typical accelerator program where hundreds of companies are "accelerated" each year using a cookie-cutter approach. We don't churn through hundreds of startups every three months in order to help just a handful of top companies.  Instead, we work with fifteen companies per cohort, doing whatever is necessary to ensure that each and every company achieves the operating milestones required for the next round of financing.  Our bespoke model allows us to deeply embed ourselves as adjunct operating executives in companies at their earliest stages, as well as those going through major inflection points.
Strategy
Improve your business strategy, including market needs and market-size assessments. Focus your product or solution strategy.
Plan
We scrub your financial plan and capital investment needs, and sharpen your marketing and sales plans.
Pitch
Improve your pitch to investors. Practice talking to people about your solution.

The  Program

Building a company is hard, especially the first year when there are limited resources, no or little support, and frankly, all you have is you and the belief that you can do great things. That’s when we come in – Quality learning experiences like this would normally cost $10,000 to $25,000. We charge entrepreneurs absolutely nothing for this incredible learning experience. They just have to show up and commit to engaging with top-notch mentors offering insights and inspiration if they are selected for the program.  The Application Closes on 1st March 2020.
15 Companies
After the application process, We will be selecting 15 companies to go through the 10-week core module program.
$20k Investment
At the end of the program, the candidates will present at the Demo Day and the investment funding of up to $20,000 will be awarded between three winners.
10 Core Modules
All 15 candidates will go through a 10-week ten core learning modules that will help and boost their brand concepts to a more successful pitch.

The Funding

We help social entrepreneurs, investors, and customers to understand each other. We build relationships that enable ventures to access the appropriate sources of finance at the right point in their growth plan.  We provide a program where candidates are already receiving services and consulting that combined to be over $25,000.  Three hand-selected candidates will be awarded a cash investment of the following three tiers below.

First Place
$10,000 will be handed to the selected company that come is 1st place after the Demo Day.
$7,500
Second Place
$7,500 will be handed to the selected company that come is 2nd place after the Demo Day.
$2,500
Third Place
$2,500 will be handed to the selected company that come is 3rd place after the Demo Day.

Mentors in accelerator programs can help you see the complexity that will develop in time and steer you in the right direction to deal with it. They can ask the questions that get you thinking of the bigger picture and what it should look like. Then these mentors can suggest the tools and tactics to get you there.

This is the big day you will pitch to investors.

Who Can Apply?

An accelerator program packs in so much information from the years of experience and skills that each mentor or accelerator manager has amassed. This concentrated form of information allows you to speed up what you are doing with your startup. Therefore, we are looking for individuals that are super focused in succeeding.
Entrepreneurs
A person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.
Small Businesses
Privately owned corporations, partnerships, or sole proprietorships that have fewer employees and/or less annual revenue than a regular-sized business or corporation.
Startups
A startup or start up is a company initiated by individual founders or entrepreneurs to search for a repeatable and scalable business model.
Creatives
A creative is an individual. They are unique, someone who doesn't quite fit into any box. Some think of creatives as iconoclasts.

The Categories

An accelerator program focuses on teaching you the skills that are essential for running a business, including sales and marketing, communications, finance, and even some technical skills.  We have opened our accelerator program to all genres and have categorized them into six options.
Tech & Ecommerce
The application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of human life or, as it is sometimes phrased, to the change and manipulation of the human environment. E-commerce is the activity of buying or selling of products on online.
Retail & Manufacturing
The process of selling goods and services directly to consumers. A retailer is any individual who operates their business either through a brick and mortar store, Manufacturing is the production of products for for sale.
Game Dev. & Mobility
Gaming is the process of creating a video game and is undertaken by a developer. Autonomous, along with connected, shared, and electric, vehicles as the next frontier of transportation.
Music & Arts
Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time. 
Health & Beauty
Health is "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of infirmity.
Food & Drink
Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for an organism. It is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients.

The Criteria

An accelerator program packs in so much information from the years of experience and skills that each mentor or accelerator manager has amassed. This concentrated form of information allows you to speed up what you are doing with your startup.
Location
Headquartered in or looking to relocate to Sacramento for the accelerator program.
Founder
At least one Founder must be working full-time in the business.
Revenue
Ideally has some revenue already or at least a prototype of their product in the marketplace being used by customers.
Problem
Must be solving a problem in the market that could lead to a business with at least a million dollars of revenue.

The Team

An accelerator can identify the risks within your concept and help you work on minimizing them. Also, those within the program can provide you with the direction in proactively taking on risk and managing it effectively.
